Official transcripts application for the Bilingual News podcast on iTunes.

Listeners are able to use transcripts while listening along with the podcast audio to improve their language skills and look up unknown words as well as create vocabulary lists and take notes.


[Bilingual News]

Bilingual News is a free iTunes podcast covering world news with occasional guest appearances. It is conducted in a mixture of both English and Japanese.


[Free Content]

Transcripts for episodes 1-3 are available for free.


[Dictionary Function]

Users can look up the definition of a word within a transcript by tapping it with three fingers.

This “Look up” gesture can be enabled from System Preferences -> Trackpad -> Point and Click.


[Self-Test Function]

This feature presents vocabulary to the user in a flash card style format. A character on the screen will evolve as the user progresses and learns new words.

Add words to the Word List(単語リスト) by highlighting a word within a transcript.


[Essays]

The Essays tab is an active list of original essay content considering a wide range of subjects. The essays feature partial translations and vocabulary lists intended to assist the reader.


[Notes Function]

Users are able to take notes on the Notes page, easily accessible from any transcript by swiping right.


[Transcription Repair]

In the event that a transcript document does not display properly, this feature attempts to correct the problem by re-downloading the document.


[Print]

Print transcripts by tapping Print in the top right of any transcript document.


[Transcript Subscription]

All transcripts and essays are accessible via a ¥240/month subscription. The auto-renewing payment will be made via your iTunes account unless disabled a day before the end of the subscription period. Users are able to unsubscribe within the Account Settings menu.
